Fighting Today for a Better Tomorrow

Throughout the last week workers and their advocates took to the streets to make their voices heard.

Community rallied outside of St. Joe’s hospital in St. Paul to protest the potential cuts to patient care.

East African workers protested working conditions at Amazon. They also called for an “Immigrant Bill of Rights.”

Educational Support Professionals (ESP) from the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, Local #59 held an informational picket at Sheridan Elementary School.

ESP are classroom paraprofessionals essential to providing a quality education for every student in the public schools. ESP are currently negotiating a two-year contract with the Minneapolis Public Schools [MPS], and for the second contract in a row MPS is asking some of their lowest paid employees to take a step freeze. MPS is also offering 0%,1%, or 2% wage increases for school year 2019 & 2020.
