The Twin Cities hospitality industry is reeling from COVID-19 shut-downs.
Rank and file union members and leaders from across the state gathered February 6-7 for the Minnesota AFL-CIO’s 2020 Campaigns Conference. The theme was “Stand Up, Fight Back!”
They wear hardhats, not elf hats, but for four weeks each fall the Cement Masons Local 633 apprentices transform their training facility into something like Santa’s workshop.
“On the one hand, I’m always in relationship with and responding to new movements as they emerge,” Levins Morales says. “The other side of my art is to address issues that nobody is talking about.”
One of the nation’s leading advocates for the Social Security program will be the keynote speaker at a public forum planned Saturday, October 19 at the Teamsters Local 120 union hall, 9422 Ulysses St. NE, Blaine. The free event will run from 10:00-11:30 a.m.
