UNITE HERE files charges against Crowne Plaza in Bloomington

Management imposed a two-tier wage structure in June 2011.

While negotiations have resumed, reported Martin Goff, senior vice president for Local 17, “every time we get close to an agreement, they move the goalpost.” “We filed charges on surface bargaining.”

The union also filed charges in response to a manager’s illegal intimidation and coercion of a union member.

Local 17 asks unions and union members to avoid the Crowne Plaza Bloomington hotel until a fair contract is settled — and to let them know.
