Housing Authority workers face a holiday season on the picketline

The Laborers Union has launched a “Toys for Strikers” drive to help the families of 76 striking Minneapolis Public Housing Authority employees during the holidays. Supporters also will rally to show solidarity with the strikers on Dec. 29.

The workers, members of Laborers Local 563, went on strike Dec. 14. They are service and maintenance employees at high-rises and townhomes. A key issue in the strike is fair wages, the union said.
